D&D: Maternity

I am SO head.over.heels with how this maternity shoot for Danielle and Dane came together. There is so much love in these photos they are just bursting at the seams!

When I work with couples I watch how they interact and move around each other.  My goal is to work within their natural movements so the poses don’t look too forced. I love that these two couldn’t be in a pose together without a touch or a smooch. The feeling of their admiration and desire for each other is so strong in these photos and inevitably what I believe a maternity shoot should be about….celebrating your love, this incredible time in your life and the anticipation of growing your family.

I can’t wait to meet baby boy in June!

Newborn NICU: Baby B

I have been so lucky to be along for the ride through Janae’s pregnancy – from helping her surprise their families with the announcement that they were having a girl, to rushed maternity photos and now Baby B’s newborn session. Well her first session that is…this little Princess is already a 4lb.2oz Diva who deserves two photo sessions ;)  Janae went on bed rest early and was monitored weekly because they knew they’d have to deliver quickly (which explains the rush maternity session :). She wanted pictures of Brooklyn soon after birth so we did a quick-mini session in the Evergreen NICU.

This session had a steep learning curve for me, not only was I battling terrible low lighting and color casts but we also couldn’t do much moving around or posing with Brooklyn because Premies are supposed to be stress-free and snuggled up in the NICU. We made the best of it and got some sweet images to capture this beautiful time for these new parents.

Can’t wait to do Brooklyn’s Newborn Session: Part 2 in a couple short weeks.

Grow Baby B grow! ;)

and just because I think this one is hilarious…. :)
